These are the five most important storylines from this past week:

Chiefs rookies and quarterbacks reported to training camp Friday. The team immediately placed four players on PUP list to start training camp: CB Rashad Fenton (shoulder), OT Lucas Niang (knee), WR Justyn Ross (foot) and OT Prince Tega Wanogho (leg). The good news is there’s a chance some of these guys could return to action before camp ends. Chiefs coach Andy Reid and QB Patrick Mahomes both discussed the Orlando Brown Jr. situation. They both seem to be positive that Brown is still on board with the team and that a deal will be reached with the left tackle sometime in the future. This sort of contradicts an earlier, questionable report that the team is frustrated with Brown over the extension talks. The Chiefs announced that “The Franchise” documentary series will return for 2022, which will be the series’ third season. These episodes are a must-watch for Chiefs fans. The first episode debuts August 4. Chiefs Wire editor Charles Goldman released his pre-training camp 53-man roster projection for the Chiefs. Admittedly, there are some controversial takes in there, but they’re all backed up with good reasons. Mahomes noted that he is paying no mind to the rising quarterback market, saying, “I think I’ve made enough money from the football field and… off of it as well, that it won’t matter at the end of the day.”
