Marketing Director – Axios Charlotte
Overview:
Under the direction of the Vice President of Marketing and consistent with the Christian mission of the YMCA, the Marketing Director, Overnight Camps & Internal Projects is responsible for providing marketing leadership and support for the overnight camps operated by the YMCA of Greater Charlotte: Camp Thunderbird and Camp Harrison. This marketing leader will help lead the growth and success of overnight camps through strategic planning and campaign development, promotion, messaging, branding, media, and marketing-related customer relationship and engagement activities. Additionally, this role will support the development and implementation of marketing and communication plans for internal business partners (e.g. CEO, Human Resources, Finance, etc…) as needed.
Responsibilities:
• Closely partner with overnight camp teams and other internal teams to understand their needs, market and consumers to create relevant and innovative messaging and communications
• Collaborate with the Y marketing team members and overnight camp leadership to develop integrated marketing and communication plans and campaigns that drive overnight camp growth through increased awareness, conversion, engagement and retention
• Support the marketing needs of internal business partners, such as Human Resources, with marketing plans or tactics required to achieve the objectives of the YMCA of Greater Charlotte
• Develop and manage creation of effective, targeted materials and messaging while ensuring that YUSA brand standards (voice, messaging) are met
• Lead development and deployment of innovative marketing tactics across digital and traditional media that drive engagement throughout the customer journey and are appropriate to specific marketing channels
• Project manage processes and timelines to ensure marketing activities are completed and launched on time
• Evaluate ongoing campaign performance, identify opportunities to optimize, and implement adjustments as needed
• Prepare and report results of campaigns, KPIs, identify insights, and provide recommendations for improvement
• Manage development and execution of relevant marketing and administrative budgets

Qualifications:
• Four-year college degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications or a four-year college degree in a related field with two years of work-related experience
• 5+ years of experience in the development of sales-driven marketing strategy, customer loyalty, and execution of tactical marketing plans
• Experience and leadership in developing, leading and managing innovative, comprehensive and integrated marketing campaigns
• Exceptional interpersonal, presentation, written and oral communications skills; proven public speaking skills and experience leading meetings and project teams.
• Superior writing skills with experience in editing and proofing
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and effectively manage a high volume of concurrent projects and priorities
• Ability to thrive and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
• Proven track record in organization, efficient processes and project management
• Must be able to represent the YMCA in a professional manner
• Demonstrated competence with Microsoft Office and the ability to become proficient in Association-specific software. Specifically, proficiency with PowerPoint, Excel and data analysis
