Thunder: Jaylin Williams placed into NBA’s concussion protocol – The Rookie Wire
Oklahoma City Thunder rookie Jaylin Williams on Wednesday sustained a concussion and was placed into the NBA’s concussion protocol, the team announced.
Williams suffered the injury on assignment in the NBA G League with the OKC Blue in a 133-102 win over the Lakeland Magic. He recorded 13 points, six rebounds, three assists and one block on 6-of-7 shooting from the field in 26 minutes of work.
The 34th pick will now begin the return-to-play process as part of the concussion protocol. He will go through a series of steps and must exhibit symptom-free behavior prior to gaining clearance to resume basketball activities.
There is no timetable for his return.
Williams has spent the majority of the season in the G League after making only seven appearances with the Thunder. He is averaging 14.1 points, 8.3 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 1.3 steals on 62% shooting from the field in 11 games with the Blue.
