A unique coincidence made for an emotional moment aboard a Westjet plane flying from Toronto to Los Angeles. On International Teacher’s Day, customer service agent Lora Caruso recognized one of the passengers boarding the flight as her former teacher. They hadn’t seen each other in more than 30 years.

Mrs. O’Connell wasn’t just any teacher, but a very influential educator in Caruso’s life. Caruso seized the moment by thanking her in a special, emotional message to all of the passengers and ending it with a long overdue embrace.

What’s a teacher’s best advice?: ‘Effort beats skill.’ ‘Never give a gun to a duck’ and more
